Accord 2021

I was lucky enough to work for my good friends on this project and was brought in shortly after the purchase of the land to help guide its development. These photos illustrate the family’s starter house, which is located on a property that spans over 150 acres. The completion of this part of the project was in 2021 but the full scope of the project encompassed the design and creation of a pattern of use between the multi-faceted areas of the land which now include trails to a beautiful river with a swimming hole, a sauna and a sweat lodge with outdoor showers, a medicine garden which includes herbal and sacred plants for healing applications, a studio, a vegetable garden, multiple guesthouses and outdoor recreation areas for entertaining. I continue to function as a consultant, designer and project manager, working closely with the builder and the homeowners as the needs and uses of the land continue to evolve. 

The starter house was created from 3 high end studio kits that were shipped from California. The house was lovingly designed by the homeowner with support from a local architect. My scope of design here included elements such as the stonework, the expansive deck, sauna, Japanese sand garden, mature trees and extensive plantings.
